Family & Pediatric Dentistry
At Linden Hills Dentistry, we believe pleasant visits to the dentist at an early age promote trust and confidence that will last a lifetime. We have created an atmosphere that is welcoming to young children and keep their visits comfortable and fun. It is very important to begin visiting the dentist as young as 2 years old. Our entire team is trained to work well with children!
Metal Free Fillings
At Linden Hills Dentistry we offer composite (white, tooth- colored) fillings or porcelain restorations. We take pride in offering a superior restoration to create a very natural looking tooth that has superior qualities over the old “silver fillings” that contained mercury.
Porcelain Crowns
Porcelain crowns are used to correct problems such as fractured or decayed teeth. A crown can restore the tooth to its original form and function.
Porcelain Bridge
A porcelain bridge is a treatment option for replacing a missing tooth or teeth. We take pride in producing bridges that look great, feel natural, and function well. If for any reason you have lost a tooth or teeth you could be a candidate for a porcelain bridge.
Root Canal
A root canal treatment or endodontic therapy is needed when damage occurs to a tooth’s pulp (nerve). This can happen due to an injury or due to extensive tooth decay. During a root canal treatment, the area is assessed, the damaged pulp is removed, and the area is then sealed. Typically, if a tooth has a root canal treatment, it will need a crown to restore it.
Dental Implants
Implants are the state-of-the-art choice for replacing missing teeth. Dental implants are made of titanium, one of the most bio- compatible materials available. The implant is designed to function as the root of a tooth, meaning it is placed in the jaw bone, just as your natural root is. The crown portion of the implant can be a single tooth, part of a bridge, or a component designed to help secure a denture in place.
Dentures
Those living with missing or damaged teeth that require replacement have multiple denture options at Linden Hills Dentistry. Our dentists produce a denture that is indistinguishable from natural teeth. They will explain the differences between traditional dentures, implant dentures, and overdentures and assess your situation to determine which option is best for you.
Sealants
Dental sealants are a protective coating that is placed on the deep groves of the back teeth. These deep grooves are hiding places that allow bacteria to cause tooth decay. The sealant fills in the grooves and works to prevent cavities. The dentist evaluates the need for sealants at each examination. Ideally, we like to place sealants as soon as the molars have erupted, typically around ages 6 and 12.
Emergency Dental Care
Unfortunately, dental emergencies happen. We understand this and are here for you in case of an emergency. Whether you develop a toothache, or experience trauma to the mouth over the weekend (ie: hockey puck to the face or a fall on the ice; we live in Minnesota, it happens!) a dentist is on call to provide you the help you need.
Laser Cavity Detection
At LHD, we use the latest technology to aid in our diagnosis and treatment of your oral health. State of the art decay detection is possible with Diagnodent. Decay in its very earliest stages won’t show up on x-rays and can be undetectable using conventional methods. The Diagnodent allows us to identify cavities much earlier by sending a laser light into the tooth to give a numerical reading of the density within the tooth. It is completely painless and catches cavities early to keep the restoration as conservative as possible.
