February is children’s dental health month. Each year, dental professional from across the state participate in Give Kids a Smile, providing free dental care and education to children in need. The event takes place the first Saturday in February and is made possible by the collaborative effort of the Minnesota Dental Association and volunteer dentists. Linden Hills Dentistry has been participating in GKAS for 15 years, with many of the same families returning year after year!

Team Smile is the nation’s premier advocacy group that partners dental professionals with athletic organizations to provide life- changing dental care to underserved children in our communities. By partner with the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings, we create an experience that develops bonds between children’s organizations, dental professionals, and the athletes that solidify the message that oral health care is vitally important to long-term health. Through this experience, children receive free oral health education, screens, treatment, and are taught that the mouth and body are linked for overall health.

Dr. Puntillo and team members have participated in MN Mission of Mercy. The event, held at the Minneapolis Convention Center, provides free dental care, over a two-day period, for patients facing barriers to care.

The Donated Dental Services (DDS) program provides free, comprehensive dental treatment to our country’s most vulnerable people with disabilities, those who are elderly or medically fragile. It also provides services to Veterans and many others who cannot afford necessary treatment and cannot get public aid.

Dr. Reinhold participated in the Philippines Dental Mission. During this mission about 950 children’s dental needs were cared for. It was an experience Dr. Reinhold holds dear to her heart and will never forget. Take a look inside her experience!
